Mourners in Iwo, Osun State, flocked to the Agbowo neighborhood, where Sisi Quadri lived, to receive the body when it arrived for the last burial.
The popular actor, Qodri Oyebamiji, died on Friday, March 1, 2024, throwing the entertainment industry into mourning.
Young people, Iwo residents, theater professionals, and other dignitaries gathered at the departed father’s home as early as 8 am, anticipating the body’s arrival for the rituals in the Agboola community.
At about 11:00 am, the body arrived in an ambulance, and the majority of the mourners—especially the women—were visibly in tears.
Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, in a statement delivered by his spokeswoman, Olawale Rasheed, earlier described the actor’s death as shocking and tragic.
Part of it says, “Watching Tolani Quadri Oyebamiji (also known as Sisi Quadri) in movies was enjoyable. He had a wonderful gift that brightened houses and conveyed important lessons.
Even years after his passing, people will fondly recall the incredible moments he brought to life on screen, along with the comedic relief he provided to audiences through his works.
“I grieve his passing, fully aware of the exceptional talent he left behind. My deepest sympathies go out to his immediate family, the Iwolandians, the film industry, and everyone else who was impacted by this tragic event.
“I sincerely hope that they will have the fortitude to endure the trying time that his passage signifies. May Allah Ta’ala provide him with a soul that is aljanah fidau.
