They trounced Cameroon and Angola with just one goal conceded, while Nigeria will face South Africa, which needed a penalty shootout to defeat Cape Verde.
In their most recent match in the 2019 edition of the quarterfinals played in Egypt, Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong scored an 89th-minute winner to defeat Bafana Bafana.
The Super Eagles needed penalties to defeat South Africa in their semi-final match on Wednesday. The game concluded 1-1 in regulation after 120 minutes.
There were no goals in the first half, which was dominated by Bafana Bafana. However, in the second half, Nigeria seized the lead after Victor Osimhen was fouled inside the box.
William Troost-Ekong scored to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead. Although, late in the game, Alhassan Yusuf conceded a penalty, which Teboho Mokoena converted.
The match was ultimately settled on penalties, which Jose Peseiro’s team won 4-2.
They will now meet either the host, Ivory Coast, or the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the final on Sunday.
